WEGA in the North West United States
May 29th to June 11th 2016
Day 4 - Wednesday 1st June 2016
Today was a travelling day with very little geology. We drove the 420 miles from Pasco to Jerome so that we could have a full day at both the Scablands and the Craters of the Moon. The scenery was good especially as we drove alongside the Columbia River and over some of the hillier parts of the route. And the driving was easy - just rather a lot of it!
Our only stop was at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, near Baker City, Oregon. This was a surprisingly informative stop, being sympathetic to the Indian (sorry Native American) point of view.
Geological and historical background can befound HERE.

Here is a slideshow of all the photos I took on this day. If you wish you can sit through the whole slideshow or select the ones you want to look at more closely HERE. Also to see the route taken and where the photos were taken download THIS FILE and open it with Google Earth.
